“Exquisite Corpse started as a solo project of Robbert Heynen when he was still a member of the Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia. After ‘Reassembling Reality’, Debbie Jones (aka The Mixtress/DJ Venus) joined the project and Exquisite Corpse became eXquisite CORpsE (1993).”

debbie jones (who passed away in 2005) had a saturday night residency at ‘graceland’ (which “gave birth to Vancouver’s house music scene”) in the early 90’s. robbert heynen, which i’ve gathered from my own correspondence with him, lives here on the westcoast and continues to produce music under the alias ‘enkidada’ which he has published on his own imprint ‘sonic-soul’. 2010, he has been involved with the ‘dadavistic orchestra’, a collaboration between a former members of pwog & the current line-up of the black dog. it’s rather interesting when two points of interest converge. psychick warriors ov gaia are from holland; and in my curiosity, have found a nexus between these artists and the local lore of vancouver, the westcoast oozecity.

Zoviet France interviewed on City Limits (could be The New Music but for some reason I don’t think so). Please excuse the quality of the footage. These are VHS tapes from the mid 90s and have degraded badly over the past 20 years. Also tacked onto the end is an excerpt from some kind of promo video they were rotating around for Shadow, Theif of the Sun that also appeared on City Limits around the same time. The live show clips are from their show in Toronto at The Rivoli in 1990 to promote the Shadow release on Death of Vinyl. Also present in the interviews is Toronto underground legend and operator of the Record Peddler, Chris Twomey.”
